Flappy Jack’s is the perfect destination for a delicious, pancake filled Sunday breakfast. My husband and I never go to a Denny’s or Ihop, never. This is ↓
our ‘go-to’ place when we are craving breakfast or comfort food.
Obviously, this is not an establishment we can frequent all the time. Visiting this diner is a treat, and when we are in the mood to have a ‘cheat day’. This place always has a crowd of people waiting in the front (Btw, I took the exterior shots in these photographs after they had already closed, that’s why it’s so empty. Plus, I didn’t feel like having a crowd of people glaring at me as I snapped away with my camera)
Because this business is along old route 66 this restaurant has stuck with an old school vibe for their decor. 1950’s & 60’s music can be heard in the background as you’re waiting. They also have souvenirs that can be purchased. I purchased a t-shirt and a baseball hat for my dad, because he’s the one that introduced us to this place. Flappy Jack’s is a very nice atmosphere, and the staff is always pleasant. There is a waiting section in the inside of the restaurant, and they have plenty of benches outside as well.
We have never had bad service, slow at times, but never bad. The manager usually walks around the restaurant and greets the customers. They have some of the best coffee I’ve ever had in a diner, and it is always flowing. They have an employee that walks around just to make sure that everyone has a full cup at all times. There’s also a carousel at each table filled with a variety of coffee creamers, so sweet and delicious.
The Blueberry Lemon pancakes are the best pancakes I’ve ever had in my whole life.
My mouth is watering as I type this, and my stomach is grumbling. There is a very light hint of lemon, like they put lemon zest in the batter. So if you like lemon and blueberries, then this is the pancake plate you must order.
My dad always orders the Flappy Signature pancake. It is a oven German pancake filled with bananas, strawberries, and blueberries. Look at how fresh the fruit looks ↓
We like to order the hash browns extra crispy, especially when we’re ordering them with their omelettes. Besides their pancakes their omelettes are the next best meals on the menu. The steak omelette is filled with so much steak, I always have to cut it in half and safe the rest for later. This is an excellent choice if you’re not in the mood for a sweet meal.
Also, if you’re vegetarian I’d recommend their veggie omelette, it’s so delicious.
Have you noticed the generous portions? And their meals are affordable too. An excellent choice for large families.
The only little thing that I have to warn you about is that when Flappy’s is very busy it can get a little loud. I think that is to be expected, but if you are sensitive to a lot of loud noise, try not to go during their peak hours.
There is always plenty of parking. And the location in Glendora is located on Rte 66, so it is pretty easy to find.
You won’t regret visiting this place, I guarantee it. But just be warned, they can get very busy in the mornings. Don’t go there starving or it will be a long, tormenting wait until your food is served.
Our 3 favorite items we always order at Flappy Jack’s:
- The Blueberry Lemon Pancakes
- Flappy Signature Pancake
- Steak Omelette
